How to Play Worldoku
Fill a grid with countries that match both their row and their column. Here’s everything you need to know.
The grid
Every Worldoku puzzle is a 3×3 grid. Three category labels sit along the rows and three along the columns, giving nine cells in total. Each category describes a property a country can have — for example In Africa, Landlocked, Over 100M People or Uses the Euro.
The goal
For each cell, enter a country that satisfies both the row category and the column category that meet there. If a row says In Europe and a column says Landlocked, the cell needs a landlocked European country — Austria, Switzerland and Hungary would all work.
- Each country can be used only once per grid.
- Most cells have several valid answers — there’s rarely a single “right” solution.
- Type a country name; common aliases and historical names are accepted (see the FAQ).
Difficulty levels
Pick the challenge that suits you. Higher levels mix in trickier categories and fewer valid countries per cell:
- 🌱 Easy — Broad categories — continents, coastlines, monarchies
- 🌍 Medium — Mixed categories — alliances, borders, population, geography
- 🔥 Hard — All standard categories — language, geography, and political facts
- 💀 Expert — Expert categories guaranteed — G7, time zones, religion, and more
